 The Salamandras Hostel is located in a forest on the banks of the Simpson river at the entrance to Coyhaique. It is a two floor wooden building with terraces and plenty of outside areas. There is a spacious Aufenthaltsraum area with loft area for TV and video. A wood burning stove and internet, Bibliothek and map Bibliothek make this a comfortable and practical area.
8 heated rooms for 2, 3 or 4 people, shared bathrooms with showers. 1 independent cabin with kitchen for up to 6 people. Camping areas.
The Hostel is run by the owners, Chus and Santi, both Spanisch with years of experience as guides in Patagonia. |

 Take the road south out of Coyhaique towards Balmaceda. After the last gas station take the paved road to the right which descends to the Simpson river and on to the AerÛdromo Teniente Vidal. 50 ms after the bridge over the rio Simpson there is a sign, follow the dirt track to the right for about 300m. From the plaza in town it is 3 km. It is an easy walk. |
