Chillan, located just 5 hours south of Santiago. This city is famous for its awesome market. The town has a modern cathedral with a unique architecture. Chillan is conveniently located only 1h from the snow and the ski resort of Las Termas de Chillan and 1h from the coast.
Las Trancas (1 300 M), is a small mountain village and the last stop before the ski resort, Los Nevados de Chillan, about 11 km. Las Trancas is well known for the quality of its accommodations, which you can find scattered through this wooded village. Open all year, during the winter season you can enjoy the impressive ski resort nearby, there are also tons of summer activities to enjoy in Las trancas once winter is over: trekking, mountain biking, rock climbing, horseback riding. A few steps from the MI Lodge, you will discover the hidden Shangri-la valley, with a rich fauna and flora (condors, woodpeckers, native trees…) and its view on the Shangri la glacier. Near to Las Trancas, you will discover the national reserve Nuble, with its wild orchids, virgin landscape…
“Las Termas de Chillan” or “Los Nevados de Chillan” (1 600 M), is growing. This resort, offers 32 runs for all levels, 11 lifts, the longest groomed run in South America, “las tres Marias” over 8 miles… and what we think is the best free riding terrain ever! But Termas de Chillan is not just a ski resort; it’s also an unbelievable place to do backcountry skiing (fumaroles, Hot Spring River…). During all year, you will enjoy the natural hot spring.
