The picturesque town of Puerto Octay is situated in a protected bay, on the north shore of Lake Llanquihue. It can be easily reached from Puerto Montt, Puerto Varas, Frutillar or Osorno.
From the town, you have spectacular views of the volcanoes Calbuco (2003 m), Osorno (2652 m) and Puntiagudo (2493m), which are part of Vicente Perez Rosales National Park. The surroundings transform from the rolling green hills near lakes Rupanco and Llanquihue, through to the lush rainforests of the Andes. This beautiful environment provides opportunities for many outdoor activities such as walking, hiking, mountaineering, horseriding, mountain biking, sailing, fishing and canoeing.
