- Using Pto. Varas as your “Base Camp”.
You can take various “Daytrips” like to visit the Waterfalls in
the National park “ Vincent Perec Rosales”, going up till the
ice from Vulcan Osorno, Cascadas & Puerto Octay,
and many other beautiful places.
You can do this trips easily on our own, and be back at evening.
- Good Hostels like “Compass del Sur” and “Casa Azul” are waiting
here for you in Puerto Varas. You will find here nice small
bars (very often with live Musik) and perfect restaurants,
Internet places, nice city life,
simply a perfect place to relax and to get organized.
- Puerto Varas offers you in the summer time a lot of
actives in town like “live Musik in the plaza”
or “the Day of the Kuchen” ect.
There is a handcraft market were artisans come
from all over Chile.
Here is the gate to Patagonia and the beginning of
the famous “Carretera Austral”.
It’s not necessary to overnight in Puerto Montt,
because you can get every bus connection like to the Airport,
Chiloé, Santiago and all other major cities directly
from Puerto Varas without problems!
The busses also will bring you from here directly to the port to
“NAVIMAG” where you can get the boat to “PATAGONIA”.
Shuttle buses between Puerto Montt and Puerto Varas
Every 5 minutes.
